Essential Guidance for Post-Treatment Care

Chemical Peel Pre And Post Care

CHEMICAL PEEL PRE CARE

WEEK BEFORE PROCEDURE:

  • Discontinue retinol, Tretinoin (Retin-A), alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), lactic acid, and salicylic acid, scrubs, masks, and exfoliating cleansers.
  • Avoid Hair Removal: No waxing, electrolysis, or threading on the treatment area.

DAY OF PROCEDURE:

  • Arrive at the clinic with a clean face, free from makeup, lotions, and perfume.
  • Do not shave your face the day of the peel.
  • Ensure your skin is hydrated but not wearing heavy creams

CHEMICAL PEELS POST CARE

After a chemical peel, it is normal to experience redness, sensitivity, tightness, dryness, and mild peeling as the skin begins to renew itself. Depending on the strength of the peel, peeling may start within a few days and last up to a week. As the old skin sheds, a smoother, brighter, and more even complexion is revealed. Some clients may also experience slight flaking or temporary sensitivity to skincare products and sunlight. Results continue to improve as the skin heals and regenerates over the following days and weeks.

  • Keep skin hydrated with a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer.
  • Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily and avoid direct sun exposure.

I cannot rave enough about IAM Center! The entire team is fantastic. I have seen Michelle for 5+ years now and not only is she someone I trust completely with my face (lol) but she is the most positive and kind person! Walking into her office always feels like catching up with an old friend. I live over an hour away but the drive is 100% worth it. Your health and your face is a big deal, so you might as well go to the best!

Absolutely love it here. Amaris, Michelle, Jill, and the whole staff are kind and accommodating—and produce great results! I appreciate the honest, transparent recommendations without being pushy in any way. I know they have my best interests and desired outcomes at heart. I drive over 30 minutes to get here and I wouldn’t go anywhere else!
