DO YOU HAVE WEIGHT THAT YOU ARE UNABLE TO GET OFF WITH TRADITIONAL WEIGHT LOSS METHODS?
iAM Five-Pillar Lens
Our philosophy: midlife care should not revolve around one symptom, one hormone, or one medication. We look at the systems that influence how you feel today and how you age over time.
The Five Pillars
1. HORMONE HEALTH + OPTIMIZATION
Perimenopause and menopause symptoms, thyroid considerations, sexual health, sleep, mood, cognition, body composition, skin and hair — and for men, age-related androgen decline / andropause and midlife hormonal changes — with hormone therapy considered only when clinically appropriate.
2. METABOLIC HEALTH
Weight and waist trends, visceral adiposity, insulin resistance, glucose regulation, blood pressure, cardiometabolic risk, nutrition, protein adequacy, lean-mass preservation, resistance training, and GLP-1/GIP therapy when appropriate.
3. HEALTHY AGING + PREVENTION
Cardiovascular risk, lipids, ApoB and Lp(a) when indicated, bone health, muscle and strength, sleep, physical activity, family history, and age-appropriate preventive screening.
4. FUNCTIONAL OPTIMIZATION
Energy, sleep quality, stress and recovery, GI symptoms, nutritional deficiencies when clinically relevant, iron and vitamin status, medication contributors, hair loss, and overall body composition.
5. AESTHETIC INTEGRATION
Skin quality, collagen and volume changes, hair, body composition, muscle preservation, and weight-loss-associated facial and body changes – always elective and separate from medically necessary care.
THE IAM DIFFERENCE: personalized longitudinal care rather than a single-medication or one-size-fits-all protocol.
What Midlife Care Looks Like at iAM
We start with your goals, symptoms, risks, history and objective data – then build a plan around you.
Why midlife deserves a wider lens
BODY COMPOSITION
Visceral fat can rise while muscle and strength decline – even when the scale changes only modestly.
CARDIOMETABOLIC RISK
Blood pressure, glucose regulation, lipids, sleep and family history increasingly matter for long-term health.
HORMONAL CONTEXT
Perimenopause, menopause, and age-related androgen decline in men can influence sleep, mood, cognition, body composition, sexual health and quality of life.
BONE + MUSCLE
Strong muscle and bone are central to metabolic health, mobility, independence and healthy aging.
FUNCTION + RECOVERY
Energy, sleep, stress, GI health and nutrition can determine whether a plan is sustainable.
CONFIDENCE + AESTHETICS
Hair, skin and facial/body changes matter to many women and can be addressed thoughtfully without confusing aesthetics with medical necessity.
Where GLP-1 therapy fits
For the right patient, GLP-1/GIP therapy can support appetite regulation, weight reduction, glucose control, and broader cardiometabolic goals. But medication is paired with nutrition, protein adequacy, resistance training, muscle preservation, sleep, follow-up, risk assessment, and a maintenance strategy.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the iAM Five-Pillar Lens?
The iAM Five-Pillar Lens is our whole-person approach to midlife care. Instead of focusing on one symptom, one hormone, or one medication, we look at five connected areas that influence how you feel today and how you age over time: hormone health, metabolic health, healthy aging and prevention, functional optimization, and aesthetic integration.
Does this approach mean I will need hormone therapy or weight-loss medication?
No. Treatment is never assumed. Hormone therapy and GLP-1/GIP therapy are considered only when they are clinically appropriate for you, and they are just one part of a broader plan. Your plan may also include nutrition, protein adequacy, resistance training, sleep, stress and recovery, and follow-up.
Is the Five-Pillar Lens only for women?
No. It is designed for both women and men in midlife. For women, this may include perimenopause and menopause. For men, it may include age-related androgen decline and other midlife hormonal changes. Every plan is built around your goals, symptoms, history, and objective data.
How do I get started?
Start with a personalized consultation at iAM Center. We will talk through your goals, symptoms, and health history, help you understand your options, and outline your next steps. Individual treatment decisions are made after a clinical assessment and shared decision-making with your provider.
